Cons
The politics at prime(corporate office at least) have reached an insane peak. People backstab and step on others to try and lift themselves to higher positions. After a while, being in CYA mode is just automatic as you'll never know who you can really trust. Nepotism is also a HUGE problem. People without experience and/or sufficient knowledge are put into positions of power causing not only inefficiencies in their department but also lack of trust from other areas. I've seen several employees who "are connected" shoved into departments without even the department manager knowing the employee now works for them. These employees are also essentially unfireable so you'll have to work with what you have if they don't have the knowledge. Lieing runs rampant. Everyone is afraid of telling Dr. Reddy or whoever their boss is the truth about their mistakes so they'll make something up. When it catches up to him/her they'll usually just find some scapegoat (again, this is why you CYA at prime) Money is a huge deal to upper management which obviously makes sense. I've seen good programs scrapped just because it looked good for the year end. However, sacrificing long term value for short term gains just doesn't work. All the above contributes to the facilities not trusting corporate. To the sites, the disorganization and incompetence is apparent and so corporate employees are not just fighting against themselves but also against hospital leaders. Working here can suck the life out of you (unless you enjoy handling the types of situations above). You'll get experience but you'll have to ask yourself is it worth it?
