Pros
Some great colleagues who work hard for patients (not nearly enough!) Convenient location Great ER staff who work hard to have short wait times.
Cons
-- Poor pay means they often hire incompetent people to run units. Unit director positions are sometimes left unfilled for months or longer. -- Poor discharge planning puts patients at risk, upsets RCFEs, geriatric care managers and other outside health care providers. -- Colleagues' own family members who were inpatient had to fight to get good care for their loved ones. -- Loss of Grossman Burn Center and S+AGE Geriatric Clinic to other hospitals -- Poor employee morale -- Health plan was so limited that a pregnant wife had trouble finding an OB/GYN
