Pros

The kids were fun to work with.

Cons

Management is the worst I’ve ever experienced, I was threatened to be fired twice, once because I had mono and strep at the same time and had to be out for a couple of days (they got a doctors note for it). The one time I deserved a write up and I admitted that to them, I didn’t receive one, but I got 2 write ups from the mono/strep incident and one because I didn’t finish training in-time (I was not made aware of any new trainings). When asking for a bathroom break it usually takes multiple asks and more than 30 minutes. One day a director came in to move kids and I asked for a bathroom break and she told me “we’re too short-staffed”. We are ALWAYS short-staffed so I was basically a floater instead of a teacher. They constantly complained about consistency but the only thing consistent about my job was being in a different room everyday and never in my own. They don’t send home kids that are sick unless they have a high fever, which gets the class and teachers sick. They don’t give out raises until the end of the year and even then you most likely won’t get one. There are 3 sick days within 6 months that you’re allowed but everytime you call out sick they treat you horribly the next day. When I finally found a new job I told the owner I would not be staying for the summer and am applying to new jobs currently, the next day management threatened to fire me because they’re mad I’m leaving. Management doesn’t apologize, they don’t care, they don’t make you feel appreciated, they treat you horribly, and then they get mad when you don’t like working there. You can’t succeed in a job like this, when the system is meant to tear you down. Their motto is “everyone is replaceable” and they will prove that to you every day you work here. Also, they pick on the younger classroom teachers the hardest cuz it’s closest to the front office. If you have to work here, work in the older classrooms and don’t talk to the front unless you have to.

Pros

I absolutely loved our families and their children.

Cons

From my first week of training, I could tell they didn't want me there. The assistant director is very dismissive and rude and the director is condescending. Never really had an issue with other staff members, but it was obvious the director and assistant director were trying to push me out. The curriculum director was so kind and sweet, but she left too, feeling like the director and assistant director were using her and walking all over her. I absolutely do not recommend.
