Pros

Making a difference in little lives.

Cons

Teachers are not able to tell children no. The administration told me to lie to parents when problems arise with their children. One example of MANY: A child pushed another child into the gate and made a knot on his forehead. The administration told me to tell the parent that the child was running and fell. I told them no. So they made the phone call instead and told the parent that lie, right in front of me. When an incident happened in our classroom, the administration came into our room and started yelling at me and the other teacher for not handling it right. The kids were watching. (A child was choking on a biscuit and I gave them the hemlock and quickly got the biscuit out.) They never let me talk to the parent. We were paid very little The turn over rate is ridiculous. The teacher parking lot smells like weed because that how the teachers destress.

Pros

I absolutely loved our families and their children.

Cons

From my first week of training, I could tell they didn't want me there. The assistant director is very dismissive and rude and the director is condescending. Never really had an issue with other staff members, but it was obvious the director and assistant director were trying to push me out. The curriculum director was so kind and sweet, but she left too, feeling like the director and assistant director were using her and walking all over her. I absolutely do not recommend.
