Pros

nice office, fun group of people to work with

Cons

no one is there to build you or help you grow. it's like they don't even know how to grow and develop their people, though they have an overpaid team on staff to do just that. freight company where most of the people at the top don't even understand the industry. unrealistic goals and expectations and they act like it's just normal. No upward movement, and the absolute lowest salary in the business. Get used to that low salary, because they are expensive and you wont't grow your book because of it. You can see the misery in people's faces.

Pros

- Great benefits - Great people - Tons of opportunity for QUICK advancement (supervisor, manager, director, etc) - Aggressive and residual commission structure - Great training programs throughout your tenure at the company - Recession proof industry & company (privately held since 1995 and never done layoffs) - An incredible product, top of the line in the industry - The Knoxville office specifically is making a lot of strides in the right direction

Cons

Not necessarily cons, but important to know because this job is not for everyone. - It is a grind. You have to be willing to hear "I'm not interested" and not let it impact your next call. - You can't let it crush your spirit if you are "slow" to close your first deal. The big money is made in year 2, 3, 4, etc. You have to be willing to hustle for the first 2 years or so to build up a solid book. After that, you'll still be selling on the phones but you'll work a lot off of referrals and upsells. - Fragmented industry: there are a lot of competitors out there who offer completely different services than us. We are a top tier service/reliability based transportation brokerage and consultant. Sometimes the leads we call are used to lower level service than what we provide so you have to be able to show them that we are different than the people who burned them in the past. The hardest part will be getting the meeting set - once they see what we have to offer it is a no brainer

Thank you so much for this incredible review and for your five-plus years with Priority1! We love the way you framed it — high effort, high reward really does say it all. You've captured the Priority1 opportunity better than we ever could, and the growth you've shown from rep to Director of Sales in Knoxville is exactly the kind of story we love to see. We're proud to have ambitious, driven people like you on the team and we can't wait to see what's ahead.
