Pros
*Rewarding work with people who need you (and most clients appreciate your help). *Ability to be flexible with availability that works best for me. *You get to be your own boss! *Many openings available to help clients close to my house *The ability to create your own schedule and work as much or as little as you like *Ability to work with clients of your choosing.
Cons
*Working with elderly population with the inability to pay higher rates. *Depending on the client, can be pretty labor intensive with high risk of injury to self if proper body mechanics are not being practiced (when a client falls, you can easily forget about proper body mechanics). *If you have your own clients, you may not have anyone to fill in for you if you're ill or vacationing. *Exposure to animals and smoke depending on the client. *Wear and tear on my vehicle especially if I am driving client to appointments and to run errands, etc. *Exposure to higher population of people who are susceptible to flu/cold type illnesses and have a greater risk of hospitalization because of their susceptibility.
