Pros
The Privia Pal program is without a doubt the best thing about and at Privia. They pair a new employee with an employee who has been there for a while. The Pal is usually someone who is not on your team, which is great because he/she can act as a third party for any and all of your questions. Needless to say, my Pal was my savior.
Cons
Where to start... This is not the place where you will feel welcome. Do not expect it in the beginning and do not expect it later on when you have been at Privia for a while, if you last. It is a cold environment (not sure why someone would think it's a "refreshing place to work") and it seems like it's on track to stay like that. If you manage to wiggle your way into a clique, you can call yourself a survivor. There are 3 floors, the 4th, 5th, and 9th. I'm not too sure about the 4th floor but you'll be lucky if you end up on the 5th floor. The 9th floor might as well be called The Dungeon. Prep yourself for a meeting up there: don't talk, don't chew loudly, and don't walk loudly, or else you'll get "the look". Don't get distracted by all the "cool" stuff they tell you during orientation. The birthday PTO, free snacks, nice laptops, calling employees "Partners" to make them think that they're a part of the company. It sounds nice in the beginning but it's all just there as a mask to the problems going on. There is no diversity at Privia. A company picture could very truly be used to represent the Trump administration. It's a majority white, male place. There are VERY few non-white folks. In addition to the majority white, males, you also have a majority of young people. If you're "old" (>early 40s) and not white, don't expect yourself to sail through the hiring process. There were talks of a diversity focus group to discuss the diversity problems at Privia...why have a diversity group when it should be common sense to hire diverse people in the first place? Like someone mentioned earlier, if you're seriously considering an offer here, reach out to a previous employee. Contacting a current employee can be a hit or miss: either they're aware of the problems or they're blindsided and think it's all rainbows and flowers.
