Pros
Great benefits, 401k, dental, eye, medical, etc. - really nice environment - good people - job security is pretty good unless you are a middle manager
Cons
Older employees (over age 50) are often laid off - this has been the case for about 4-5 yrs now which is really sad b/c we've lost the best nurses and leaders we had. Doesn't motivate younger new hires to stay. Agree with previous person about PR dept - perfect example. The only person there with experience and who understood nurses and other medical personnel was let go about 2 yrs ago. She worked like a dog for decades and then they cut her. Newer people are nice enough but can not advise like she did. Same in nursing depts - my boss was forced into early retirement and since then dept has been a hot mess.
