Good start for mental health jobs - Anonymous employee Progress Foundation Employee Review

Pros

Great Management. Many learning opportunities. Making a difference to those most in need in the community. Great low-cost benefits (unless you have dependents). Really nice paid vacation, sick, and holiday. Management listens to employees and seeks feedback, then uses feedback to improve. Employees are, for the most part, made to feel comfortable making mistakes and are helped to learn from them.

Cons

Underpaid, household tasks can seem mundane. A lack of training can make new-hires feel very uncomfortable and contribute to mistakes. Burn-out and turn over can be high. You are working with difficult populations.

Pros

Coworkers are great people to work with.

Cons

I feel like it is unethical to treat the most vulnerable clients in the community with our level of care and licensing. I think it's unfair for both the workers and the clients and puts a lot of undue stress on everyone.
