Pros

-surgeons are generally nice to you, most of them want to teach you about ortho surgery -loved my manager -challenges you to do simple clinical procedures like suture/staple removals, patient education about DMEs & wound care, performing fiberglass casts/splints, high exposure to post-ED trauma patients -good for pre-PA, nursing, med students who want exposure to field without taking a CNA/MA-C course

Cons

-low starting pay -high learning curve -doctors are generally behind schedule, so patients get angry at you sometimes due to waiting too long -stressful when 3-4 doctors are working -generally short staffed -overtime is common -pushing diagnostic images can be a pain -MA scope of practice has low glass ceiling, you'll start to itch & want to do do more clinically once you're comfortable
