Pros
The EC role is a great way for teachers and instructional coaches looking to move into the Education Management/EdTech Industry. You will learn a lot about sales, software, and the EdTech industry. The EC team (and most people at the company) are great people!
Cons
The EC role requires at least 80% travel. Promethean Sales leadership enforced travel during the pandemic, which felt very unsafe. If you're ready and willing to travel Sunday night through Friday night, this is a good role for you, however, this lifestyle offers very little work-life balance. Even though ECs have an assigned territory, you may be asked to fly across the country for a day of training or a one hour product demonstration at the drop of a hat. The EC team has very little room for career growth. There are ECs and EC leadership, but nothing in between. Even after years with the company you will make the same or less than new ECs because of the lack of room for growth. EC territory changes yearly, which means your territory can double during your time at the company without a compensation increase.
