Pros

* Industry-Leading Technology * Work with some really smart people * Proofpoint has a reputation in the industry of being the best at Advanced Email Security Protections

Cons

* MicroManagement is out of control. Too many layers of manages needing their own spreadsheets filled out to report up to the next. * Quotas are completely unattainable which is by design and controlled by CFO; Everyone has the same quota in segment and has nothing to do with your actual territory or opportunity space within your book of accounts * Very Limited leads, unqualified at best. * Still building out partner ecosystem; need to do a better job of in incentivizing/ working with partners to drive business our way * Bait and switch environment; Told one thing when you come into territory and complete opposite takes place. When you bring it up, no one seems to cares * With a company of this size, 401k match is very low at 2% compared to industry * Too many layers of management- 6 layers between rep and CEO * Growth happened too fast this way behind on improving internal technologies, slow systems, quoting tools etc. * We are known in the industry as an “email security company “. Good when selling email security, not good when you are trying to sell anything else. * Very expensive solutions compared to market

Pros

fairly lax with lots of time to do things

Cons

many. Former CEO ran things poorly and took in managers who brought along their problems and animosities with them. Not only that, they were allowed to invite their friends to come and join too, many of them owing their jobs to someone creating a bro culture. Even though top mgmt changed since the sale, its many of these people still there to this day. Most of the systems were a black box, existing engineers were mostly uncooperative to keep their knowledge to themselves, the offshore engineers in one particular country were especially bad for this. I have seen major accomplishments achieved by someone, where so many others had failed, only to get fired soon after.
