Pros

Culture is excellent. CEO is excellent. Technology is excellent. I joined Proofpoint through an acquisition, and I could not be happier. I have been through several acquisitions, and have acquired companies as well. It does not always go well. The Proofpoint acquisition has been fantastic. Proofpoint is a great place to work. The culture is very collegial. The company has been growing quickly and really has a great position to be one of the top leaders in security. There have been a number of great acquisitions that are building the Proofpoint security portfolio beyond being the best in email security. Flex time, vacation policy, benefits and snacks are great perks. The number of smart people here is outstanding. There is a lot of room to innovate and collaborate with others. Everyone at Proofpoint is very helpful and friendly. There is also a sense of work-life balance. The company all got Fitbits recently, and there are cool morale-building contests and activities. It's an exciting place to be. I encourage interested candidates to engage with Proofpoint and check it out.

Cons

Travel policy is restrictive and you must book through Concur, which can be a pain. But I guess it makes sense for a company with over 1,000 employees.

Pros

fairly lax with lots of time to do things

Cons

many. Former CEO ran things poorly and took in managers who brought along their problems and animosities with them. Not only that, they were allowed to invite their friends to come and join too, many of them owing their jobs to someone creating a bro culture. Even though top mgmt changed since the sale, its many of these people still there to this day. Most of the systems were a black box, existing engineers were mostly uncooperative to keep their knowledge to themselves, the offshore engineers in one particular country were especially bad for this. I have seen major accomplishments achieved by someone, where so many others had failed, only to get fired soon after.
