Pros

After we were acquired by Proofpoint, I was worried we were going to leave a lot of our values behind and move into a corporate, soulless environment that puts people last and money first. I've been pleasantly surprised this has not been the case. There is a very strong incentive to make profits but the human centric part of the company still remains front and center. The people I work with are friendly, helpful and genuine and the opportunities for growth are plentiful and easily accessible.

Cons

The cons I've experienced are not unique to PP and are prevalent in most companies of this size but it's related to requirements changing suddenly and not being communicated top down effectively. This means we can find ourselves jumping from feature to feature without completing everything we had in mind for the previous feature

Pros

fairly lax with lots of time to do things

Cons

many. Former CEO ran things poorly and took in managers who brought along their problems and animosities with them. Not only that, they were allowed to invite their friends to come and join too, many of them owing their jobs to someone creating a bro culture. Even though top mgmt changed since the sale, its many of these people still there to this day. Most of the systems were a black box, existing engineers were mostly uncooperative to keep their knowledge to themselves, the offshore engineers in one particular country were especially bad for this. I have seen major accomplishments achieved by someone, where so many others had failed, only to get fired soon after.
