Pros

The benefits are good, if you were lucky enough to get in early, the stock options could make you a fair amount of money. The office space is very nice, if somewhat overcrowded.

Cons

In engineering, 80-100 hour weeks were mandatory, and not just at the tail end of projects. There was absolutely no work-life balance. In 2015 they hired a VP of engineering, later promoted to CTO who was openly racist, hiring 90+% people of his same ethnicity for all engineering positions. He would refuse to make eye contact with anyone he considered his lesser and reportedly would speak ill of english speaking employees in a foreign language. He hired multiple people at senior level who were not technically capable at an average level... seemingly based on race or prior association. Knowledge was hoarded among his favored group, and others who had been at the company were denied even access to look at their code.

Pros

I have truly enjoyed my time at Prosper. It is a company that offers genuine opportunities to learn, grow, and take on new challenges within your role. I absolutely love my team, my manager, and find the work itself deeply fulfilling. One of the standouts for me is the leadership. Having come from a previous company where leadership was hesitant to make difficult choices, which led to multiple rounds of layoffs, I have a massive appreciation for how Prosper’s leadership operates. They are willing to make short-term, sometimes unpopular decisions because they prioritize the long-term safety and stability of all employees. It is a huge relief to work for a financially stable organization where I can see myself building a long-term career. Prosper is also one of the most diverse companies I have been a part of. From my perspective, the compensation is very competitive compared to other industry ranges I have seen, and the benefits offerings meet my needs.

Cons

While the leadership makes the right calls for long-term stability, the resulting tough decisions can sometimes be difficult to navigate in the moment, the transparency behind the decisions is super helpful.

Pros

Fast-paced environment, able to directly contribute to company goals Good people who genuinely believe in the mission We regularly hear customer testimonials detailing how we've had a positive impact on their lives Leadership is transparent about company performance Only 2 days a week in the office

Cons

The company performed well in 2025, but we didn't see some benefits return until this year which has caused residual frustration Smaller teams offer less growth opportunity Some mid-level leaders manage up very well Pay is okay, but not competitive with larger tech companies
