Pros
Outstanding company culture Work - Life Balance Mentor Program Personal & Professional Growth I have been with Protiviti a little over 6 months. So far, the experience has been mostly great! Upon graduation from college, i sought after a company that would treat me as a person, not a number, and respect my time as a human being beyond work, while also allowing for both personal and professional growth. This may sound like high expectations but if you're considering companies like Protiviti, its competitors, or the Big 4, you need to have high expectations for yourself. This will help shape your professional future as well as your personal. Going into Protiviti with this positive, proactive mindset, I feel satisfied in all aspects of my professional life right now.
Cons
Not really a con but more of a note, it is difficult early on to dictate what projects you get placed on. Most new hires out of college are placed in the Internal Audit & Finance Advisory practice. This is a great starting point because the is plenty of work, and more of an opportunity to learn how to be a good consultant. If you are trying to join a company, for example, to immediately do programming, penetration testing, something technical, or something beyond Internal Audit, that will not happen immediately. You will need to make it clear to your Managers that is where you want to end up, and you will have to be proactive outside of work to learn the necessary skills in order to start working on those kinds of projects. If your join with an openness to learn, stay flexible, and be adaptive, then Protiviti will be right for you.
