Pros
This is a consulting company with many offices, solutions, and clients. Your personal experiences may vary. To summarize my experience: - Office culture: I know this one is cliche, but Protiviti does have a unique culture. Individuals are professional, friendly, and it's easy to develop peer and mentor relationships. There are some very fun people to work alongside and most are down for a drink after work. - Work/Life Balance: I was rarely asked to work more than 40 hours per week. When I was, it was typically due to things outside of my manager's control and was rewarded & appreciated - Freedom to jump solutions / projects: It's possible to vary your projects but it's going to take some self-navigation, networking, and trust to get there - The organization has levels but feels very flat - good access to and reception from leadership - Lots of free food and travel is available - Good time off and flexibility to actually use it (looking at you, Big 4) - There are some really bright and involved managers that can help steer and grow your career
Cons
- The word "consulting" is thrown around pretty liberally. You'll likely end up on a SOX or loan staff project at some point (hint: there's a reason companies are outsourcing this particular work). - Consultants and seniors are not issued cell phones, which forced me to rely on my personal cell phone for work calls for many years (sorry Protiviti, Skype for Business lines are not a cell phone replacement, especially if you are on the road)
