Pros

The Location maybe? Met nice people.

Cons

• Terrible company to be a consultant for, at least on the Protiviti side, Top heavy organization that fails to scope roles correctly, they under pay/ mis-define roles and under support all their consultants and promise the client they will train you and support but leave you to the sharks. • They try to provide a managed service solution to their clients but the leaders of the strategy on the Protiviti side, fall short in their understanding consistently and overwhelmingly, which puts a consultant as the onsite POC in a bad position. • They completely changed the scope and experience level required for my SOW and would not provide training or resources and declined to adjust my rate based on the job market for the new role. I left early because I was making $20,000 less a year that my peers. • In addition to that they are terrible communicators on the operational side of the house. I never knew who to ask for help, never fully understood the sick time benefit, they never told me that my insurance needed to be cancelled by myself when I left, and they had it set up to be paid via my personal debit card with out even consulting me. When I called to cancel the benefit, company said I could not receive a refund for fees I was already charged. • They don’t keep their equipment up to date and have had people working without fully functional tools. Or they are not trained enough in the available tools and their solutions waste time and add little value. • They seem to try to squeeze profit from their consultants and will not in any way negotiate on your behalf regarding pay or SOW. • They will blame you for anything they can to save face with the client, especially in meetings you are not attending. • Not a good place even as a transition role, you will probably have to unlearn anything you learn with this company.

Pros

Good WLB Great Bosses Health insurance & benefits are awesome Very flexible workforce Easy to climb up in promotions

Cons

Pay is below standard (Although I feel you still get paid decently for the area) If you're put on a production project, be ready to feel stuck. Management is very lost on where they want to head into the future. I am worried this company won't last much longer (Former arthur anderson) Can feel clique-y at times amongst peers (but this is not a problem of the company specifically)

Pros

1) Chicago office has a good culture, overall. It’s not perfect but most of the people are great. 2) Work-life balance score has been solid (about 5+ years of insights here) 3) Although it was not great this year, Incentive compensation has overall been pretty good over the course of 5+ years. Much better than big 4 in my experience.

Cons

1) Since 2023, the culture hasn’t been great for a variety of reasons (mainly due to sluggish performance and growing too fast) 2) It feels more like a temporary staffing agency versus a consulting firm for a lot of the time. 3) There has been an awkward push for a return to the office and more business development focus that is in stark contrast to what most Protiviti people value. 4) Most people I talk to say they are not motivated by most of the MDs they interact with (this is significant in my opinion).
