Pros
- people typically demonstrate a work hard, play hard attitude - fun holiday parties - many opportunities to coach new hires and work in teams
Cons
- focus is becoming less focused on development of our people to provide challenging and exciting projects to pushing work on clients that isn't in the client's best interest or good work for our people - promise of work/ life balance is not realized - many people are often swamped and can't reasonably handle the workload; workload is not evenly distributed across the office - often have to work OT to follow up on admin work like completing proposals or budgeting; normally this is fine except when the proposal content is outside my realm of expertise and I rely on other people to give me updates; also wait last minute to provide instructions to teams so they work late unnecessarily to meet deadlines - not all managers complete formal evaluations which impact your year-end bonus; also not meaningful when feedback is not provided when asked for it - promotion guidance is not clear/ does not appear to be applied consistently across the company
