Pros

Protiviti is still a small place, kind of like 'Cheers,' where everybody knows your name. I have enjoyed unparalleled support from across all levels of professional, accompanied by an active interest in me and my development (both professional and personal).

Cons

Onboarding is weak, because the company is so tight. Mentor selection is critical, and haphazard. Assimilating can be difficult. Newcomers must be patient with development of relationships and expectations. Protiviti is actively addressing this issue by revamping onboarding for experienced hires and those who join off-cycle.

Thank you for sharing your experience at Protiviti. What you are experiencing is a fantastic and practical benefit of working in an organization where people know and respect each other. Let me reinforce the "A" priority we are placing on strengthening our onboarding and orientation programs. We have already introduced a number of improvements to help our new employees get oriented to our culture, tap into employee networks, build a strong relationship with their advisor networks, and start contributing. More to come, and I hope we can continue to lean on employees like you to help our newer employers make the transition into Protiviti.

Pros

Good Culture, decent pay, not overworked too much.

Cons

Repetitive, meaningless, and boring work, hard to pivot out of this career once started. Also, the consulting career feels like such a fake job at times. Doesn't feel like real work. Makes you question your life decisions. I'd recommend any college grads to think about their future career goals first before joining. I joined on a whim and wish I spent more time interviewing. It's been incredibly difficult to pivot out of internal audit and sox compliance once you are in it. However, if you are really good at corporate politics and advocating for yourself you may be able to pivot out of the IAFA solution . However, not sure how that lends it self if you want to leave the company.
