Pros
-You can take vacation any time you want, provided you schedule it with enough notice. -The work isn't hard. -They have offices in multiple cities.
Cons
-This isn't consulting. There is no value add. This is glorified contracting. The only reason I say it's glorified is because Protiviti is a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Half, one of the largest contracting firms in the world. Somehow Protiviti charges higher rates than Robert Half employees, hence the glory. The service provided is much the same - base level work that a company doesn't want to hire full-time employees to do. -This is the most boring work you will ever do. You are basically a nit-picker, validating that some other worker bee has done his or her work. And by "work" I mean they titled a document correctly or signed something and dated it correctly. -As another reviewer mentioned, people here, especially at the senior level, have no idea what they're doing. I've worked on operational risk projects where I've been asked, by an Associate Director, to find out what operational risk means. Protiviti bids on work it does not have the capability of executing. -The firm has no infrastructure. HR is invisible. I literally have no idea who I would speak to if I had any HR-related issues, and I've been at the firm nearly two years.
