Pros

Most of the people do want you to learn a lot, especially managers and below. Lots of opportunities to try different projects. There is a semi-clear cut path to your line of progression/promotion.

Cons

Once you hit the director level or above, especially the lead, there is a full loss of compassion and understanding / the culture is horrendous. People will literally be in the hospital and unable to work and the tone is deaf, still pushing to gain business contacts. The end of the day is of course the bottom line. Post-COVID, the path to promotion is murky as there is not as much of a standard / expectations matching across the teams. But hey, most companies will be like that sometimes.

Pros

Good Culture, decent pay, not overworked too much.

Cons

Repetitive, meaningless, and boring work, hard to pivot out of this career once started. Also, the consulting career feels like such a fake job at times. Doesn't feel like real work. Makes you question your life decisions. I'd recommend any college grads to think about their future career goals first before joining. I joined on a whim and wish I spent more time interviewing. It's been incredibly difficult to pivot out of internal audit and sox compliance once you are in it. However, if you are really good at corporate politics and advocating for yourself you may be able to pivot out of the IAFA solution . However, not sure how that lends it self if you want to leave the company.
