Pros

Accommodate new grads to gain bedside experience with little or no experience . Staffs are not fired often.

Cons

Management is less supportive of employees especially nurses. Disorganized with structures not enforced in most facilities. CNAs are very disrespectful to nurses There is no team work among nurses Nurses and CNAs are not retained because of poor wages, lack of incentives and compensation for nursing staff. And , work overload with staff shortage.

Pros

Proximity to home, flexibility provided when needed

Cons

Lack of workload balance when comparing the short term and longterm demands. Archaic unreliable technology, poor supply management, Only paid for one holiday and only if you are working. High turnover from upper mgt down. Redundancies in work processes. Many employees are paid for one position, but performing 2 to 3 other job descriptions. 30 day lead to take a day of PTO while other ppl are on PTO for months, thus causing an already strained situation worse. Lack of investment in the property by ownership. No office space for Unit Managers, one shares a small closet with a commercial ice machine, the other is in the supply closet that was once a shower. Low morale.
