Pros

I like the team work and co-workers as well as leadership personnel, I love the willimgingness to help and accommodate

Cons

The shortage, im responsible for 36 patients and counting...im very saddened because I know the tesidents deserve better care and we want to provide the care however we are litterally only one person and can only do bare minimum if that most days. It is to my understanding there are 7 MDS nurses who are qualified to do my job. I would like to see each of them in a rotation to assist with the holes during peak hours of 5p-9p. I would like to see a Dr, who responds to nurses and have more direction for LPN'S. PERHAPS a on call physician in addition to the current physician. I'd like to see a evening supervisor to handle staffing issues, call-offs, pharmacy, and assistance of when to sent patients to hospital or not. (Currently recieveing slack for sending patients or or being questioned)

Pros

Proximity to home, flexibility provided when needed

Cons

Lack of workload balance when comparing the short term and longterm demands. Archaic unreliable technology, poor supply management, Only paid for one holiday and only if you are working. High turnover from upper mgt down. Redundancies in work processes. Many employees are paid for one position, but performing 2 to 3 other job descriptions. 30 day lead to take a day of PTO while other ppl are on PTO for months, thus causing an already strained situation worse. Lack of investment in the property by ownership. No office space for Unit Managers, one shares a small closet with a commercial ice machine, the other is in the supply closet that was once a shower. Low morale.
