Good benefits. Health insurance was covered by employer up to a certain salary threshold. FSA, retirement, dental, vision were all offered.

Most programs work remotely, not many in-person opportunities to connect with partners either.

Remote work with flexible hours as needed. Great to be a part of such mission driven work. Health insurance and retirement matching are incredible.

Experience can vary based on your program and PI/PD. There seems to be no accountability for PI/PD's and there's no way for employees to safely communicate concerns without fear of retribution or retaliation, leading to very toxic work environments where lower-level staff get the short end of the stick. Given that programs are grant-funded, PI/PD's can also cut/reduce staff's FTE and then delegate tasks to staff remaining without any salary/title change, leading to burnout, frustration and low team morale.
