Pros

The only good pros about this place where the hours. Pretty steady although they could have been more "family" friendly on the weekends. It could be considered a transitional job for fresh out of college young adults. Not a longevity job for sure. Health benefits where ok but good have been better.

Cons

Low pay, lots of work. You deal with all types of life at this place. Bums, drug addicts, homeless people. Not everyone off course is bad. I'll just say the rest are students, people moving, death in the family, divorce etc, They don't promote from within. They do keep a segregation between field personal and corporate. If you start at the bottom as in Relied Manager you can only go as far as Property Manager. You can't advance to Disrtict Manager and on even thought you may or may not have a degree. It is not a place to work for many years. You're pay will not increase accordingly. All thought profits for this company are high. You won't see a lot in your paycheck. While we all know that corporate will see a nice chunk of change in theirs. The CEO boast about yearly hard work and we don't see a change in our paycheck. He get a nice one because he shows to the board that he can make the company money. They opened new facilities spend millions in expanding and yet you still get paid the same amount. You deal with a lot of "crazy" people as well. You need a lot of psychology and a lot of patience, but that can also get very thin. Besides cleaning, renting units, taking payments all that other office work you do you are left alone a lot of the time. I call it a skeleton crew. They don't like spending in staffing because it cuts into their thin staffing budget. Disrtict managers are stressed to make the numbers. That's all the company cares about. The bottom line. Workers in the field are stressed to the breaking point. Not a healthy environment. I lasted almost 4 years and couldn't not handle it anymore. A ton of disrespect and a big lack of care. Bussines ethics are on the floor. All the care about is money. Every single customer is a walking dollar sign. Corporate abuse at its best. Poor customer service. Customer get thrown back and forward. The number one complain was that when I worked there. This job requires a minimum of $15 with all the headaches and frustrations I had to deal with. They unwrap you like bubble gum chew you up and when the flavor runs out you don't get spit out they just keep chewing you until you can't take it anymore. So my advice to you is think about VERY GOOD before you take this. Oh and about weekend. These guys are all business. They don't care if you have a family. The hours on the weekend are like carved in stone. No compassion for the family man. I missed a lot of good things with my family just to work and be a good worker but as you can see it didn't get me anywhere. Oh I almost forgot. They make us learn dumb scripts just so that we can't be honest with the customer. They say it's to "perfect" the sales technique. We can't think outside the box. They are afraid that you may actually know something they don't. Also they claim to be very safe. What a lie. Older properties to newer properties get broken into. Older properties more. So much money get put into the newer properties that the older ones get less money for repairs. Leading into more beak ins. We have to convinced the potential customers that the place is like Fort Knox. I stopped reading the script when customers asked that question. I said it can happen. It's NOT Fort Knox. I stopped caring in the end. That's how burn out you will get. So again think about very well. The mental abuse from customers is not worth it. If you stay you will end up hating this place with a vegeance. No stock option for the low field employees, but available for DM's and above. The company knows their stock is worth more than the low 401k they give you. I can't say it enough. Think about HARD !!!!!!

Pros

I'm genuinely grateful to be part of the Public Storage family. From the very beginning, I've felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed by everyone I've had the opportunity to work with. A special thank you to Javon, our District Manager, whose leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for the team have made a lasting impression on me. His positive attitude and commitment to helping others succeed create an environment where people want to do their best. I'd also like to recognize Akia, my trainer, for being so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has made my onboarding experience enjoyable and has given me the confidence to grow in my role every day. I'm also thankful for Jimmy, Bree, Tabitha, Kevin, and every other Public Storage team member I've worked alongside. Each person has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to share their knowledge. Working with such an amazing group of people has shown me what a strong team culture looks like, and I know I'll have the opportunity to meet and learn from many more incredible coworkers as my journey continues. What excites me most is knowing that I've found a company where I can build a long-term career. It's rare to find a workplace that values its people while also providing opportunities to grow, and I truly believe Public Storage is a place where I can continue to learn, contribute, and eventually retire after a fulfilling career. Thank you again for making me feel like part of the team. I'm proud to be here, and I'm excited for everything the future holds with Public Storage.

Cons
