Pros

Set schedule, set hours. If you were a Property Manager you only had to work at one store. 50 cent raise after 90 days. You could chat with other store managers over the phone to pass the time. You can freely use your personal phone. I read books a lot during my downtime. You can get up and walk around the property whenever you want, you weren't confined to office all day.

Cons

Even though the job title is "Property Manager" you can't really manage anything. You can't make any decisions, you can't waive fees, you can't really do ANYTHING to help out customers who truly deserved it. I had people literally breaking down in tears and begging me to please help them out just this once and there was nothing I could do. This job weighed heavily on my conscious. The DMs, senior DMs, and RMs were awful people. All they cared about were sales numbers. They didn't see their PMs and RMs as people and definitely didn't see the customers as people. They would threaten to fire you if your numbers weren't at their ridiculously unrealistic goals. They would not listen to your point of view when you explained why reaching that goal at your store was IMPOSSIBLE, they just spouted more BS about how you must not be following the sales scripts. You had to work every holiday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. You pretty much could not take off any days because there weren't enough Relief Managers to cover stores if someone was out sick. I had to work sick tons of times because they wouldn't let me call off. You could only get an annual raise if you met their sales goals consistently. They don't keep up with inflation or rising cost of living. It's been two years now since I was hired there and they still haven't raised their starting salary even though cost of living here has definitely gone up. There is literally zero opportunities for advancement if you start at the store level, because this company does not hire from within. Once you make it to KTP, that's it. You can't go anywhere or do anything else. When I was hired I was told they really only expected me to work a year because of the fact there is nowhere to go in this company.

Pros

I'm genuinely grateful to be part of the Public Storage family. From the very beginning, I've felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed by everyone I've had the opportunity to work with. A special thank you to Javon, our District Manager, whose leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for the team have made a lasting impression on me. His positive attitude and commitment to helping others succeed create an environment where people want to do their best. I'd also like to recognize Akia, my trainer, for being so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has made my onboarding experience enjoyable and has given me the confidence to grow in my role every day. I'm also thankful for Jimmy, Bree, Tabitha, Kevin, and every other Public Storage team member I've worked alongside. Each person has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to share their knowledge. Working with such an amazing group of people has shown me what a strong team culture looks like, and I know I'll have the opportunity to meet and learn from many more incredible coworkers as my journey continues. What excites me most is knowing that I've found a company where I can build a long-term career. It's rare to find a workplace that values its people while also providing opportunities to grow, and I truly believe Public Storage is a place where I can continue to learn, contribute, and eventually retire after a fulfilling career. Thank you again for making me feel like part of the team. I'm proud to be here, and I'm excited for everything the future holds with Public Storage.

Cons

Love it here none that I can think of.
