Pros

The job itself is so easy a trained chimp could do it.

Cons

Upon meeting a coworker, the first words out of their mouth were "welcome to hell". Not exactly a ringing endorsement for what lies ahead. You'll spend a few hours a day making collections calls to the same customers literally every other day. You're forced to lie to each customer about insurance and how "its required per your rental agreement". Support from management is non existent. In the month I was there I emailed and spoke to management in person about when my public storage polo and jacket would arrive. The email was ignored and the in person request were shrugged off. This left me in my street clothes looking very unprofessional. 3 days after I quit I received a call from management to do a post mortem. I explained that I felt no support from the higher ups. instead if taking that in, he kept try to throw my trainer under the bus by asking if something went wrong during training. I assured him that my trainer was great but, it fell on deaf ears as he kept insisting I blame someone by name. Management will shuffle your schedule around to keep certain employees who don't get along separated, instead of trying to address the issue. This creates a toxic culture filled with back stabbing and personal insults. It also lets employees think they can do what they want, when they want. This includes but is not limited to; closing the store to run around town taking care of personal business while on the clock. Your kid is getting out of school early today? Great! Just lock up, grab the kis from class, maybe some lunch and come back to work when you please. Feel like starting a fight with a coworker? Wonderful! Lock up shop, hop in your car and head across town to yell profanities at your peers with zero repercussions! It's an open secret that a certain property manager will close the store for hours to drive for Uber. This has "allegedly" been happening for several years now. Seems like a pretty sweet environment to work in right? Zero room for advancement. If you're hired as a property manager, that is where you'll stay. Despite being told in my interview that there is plenty of room to grow, all of management is an outside hire and not one of them has experience at the store level which makes them super relatable... Long story not so short, my limited time here showed me everything I need to know about an awful culture. If you value your time and want a rewarding job in an way shape or form, for the love of all that is holy, stay away.

Pros

I'm genuinely grateful to be part of the Public Storage family. From the very beginning, I've felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed by everyone I've had the opportunity to work with. A special thank you to Javon, our District Manager, whose leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for the team have made a lasting impression on me. His positive attitude and commitment to helping others succeed create an environment where people want to do their best. I'd also like to recognize Akia, my trainer, for being so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has made my onboarding experience enjoyable and has given me the confidence to grow in my role every day. I'm also thankful for Jimmy, Bree, Tabitha, Kevin, and every other Public Storage team member I've worked alongside. Each person has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to share their knowledge. Working with such an amazing group of people has shown me what a strong team culture looks like, and I know I'll have the opportunity to meet and learn from many more incredible coworkers as my journey continues. What excites me most is knowing that I've found a company where I can build a long-term career. It's rare to find a workplace that values its people while also providing opportunities to grow, and I truly believe Public Storage is a place where I can continue to learn, contribute, and eventually retire after a fulfilling career. Thank you again for making me feel like part of the team. I'm proud to be here, and I'm excited for everything the future holds with Public Storage.

Cons

Love it here none that I can think of.
