Pros

I was able to learn much about how numbers and how ranking worked on a corporate level, something I will be able to use in all future jobs. I had much more customer interaction on this job then I did with prior employment, both in person and over the phone. I also liked that management wasn't constantly breathing over my shoulder at every second of the day and gave me a little freedom to make my own decisions with how I ran my property. If you are a self motivator then the job is good as you are often alone several times a week. Pay isn't great but you ca survive on it and the quaterly bonus can be pretty generous.

Cons

The medical benefits are great if you rarely get sick. There is no room to advance as Public Storage does not promote from within past being a Property Manager. Upper management respect for their workers fluccates based on the kind of numbers your store is pulling in and many of the tactics used for raising numbers are dishonest to the customer. There is little to no employee loyalty. It is also very hard as a property manager to take care of any facility problems (gate malfunctions, potholes, leaks) as Public Storage fights tooth and nail to not allot much of a quaterly budget in property maintence. Most problems that occure can take up to months to resolve. Being that we are on the higher end of the spectrum as far as pricing is concerned, you think we would at least be able to fix problems more efficantly. This is also the only job I have had that did not pay overtime for Sundays and holidays.

Pros

Public Storage is a great place to work and grow your career. I’m surrounded by talented leaders who are supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in developing their teams. The company has a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, which creates an environment where employees can succeed and make an impact. What excites me most is that Public Storage is in a significant growth phase. It’s an energizing time to be part of the organization, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful initiatives, take on new challenges, and help shape the future of the business. The company continues to invest in its people, processes, and growth strategy, making it an excellent place for those who are looking to develop professionally while being part of a winning team. If you’re looking for a company with strong leadership, career advancement opportunities, and a clear vision for the future, Public Storage is a fantastic place to be.

Cons

Cons: As Public Storage continues to grow, the pace of the business can be very fast. There are often multiple initiatives, priorities, and opportunities happening simultaneously, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly. Success in this environment depends on being able to effectively prioritize, manage competing demands, and stay focused on the highest-impact work. While the pace can be challenging at times, it also creates tremendous opportunities for growth, learning, and career development.
