Pros

You don't have to work nights and you get some insurance. That's it.

Cons

Working at Public Storage is one of the worst jobs I have had. You will often work single staffed at properties with over 1000 tenants renting. The properties are poorly maintained and when issues like floods, leaks, rodents, wall repairs happen they take forever to fix. It can take months or even years to get lights fixed at properties. One property it took over a year to get lights fixed on a floor of a building with entire hallways of lights out where people were renting. This company is unethical and makes you scam customers into buying overpriced merchandise and worthless insurance when renting units to them. While working you will get complaints from customers multiple times a week or even daily. You will have people screaming at you and threatening physical harm upon you. Oh and about the selling... You get no commission for selling and you start off at minimum wage with no raises ever. There is no promotion to a district manager from within you must apply for it from outside the company which is bad. So you can never ever advance to a district manager from within the company. A property manager is the highest you can be promoted to. You also must work weekends no matter what. Everything on the property from cleaning, reading legal documents to customers, doing bank deposits, dealing with every customer that needs help, doing lock checks where you have to check every unit on the property must be done single staffed by yourself. Overall, Public Storage is an awful company that treats employees and customers poorly. My only good things I can say are that you don't have to work nights, you get some insurance and that's about it as far as working for this company.

No micromanagement, and you are fully handed all the tools you need to be successful in this company. Pay is fair and hours very reasonable. Job duties are simple and the company stands firmly behind true customer service!

Pros

I'm genuinely grateful to be part of the Public Storage family. From the very beginning, I've felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed by everyone I've had the opportunity to work with. A special thank you to Javon, our District Manager, whose leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for the team have made a lasting impression on me. His positive attitude and commitment to helping others succeed create an environment where people want to do their best. I'd also like to recognize Akia, my trainer, for being so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has made my onboarding experience enjoyable and has given me the confidence to grow in my role every day. I'm also thankful for Jimmy, Bree, Tabitha, Kevin, and every other Public Storage team member I've worked alongside. Each person has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to share their knowledge. Working with such an amazing group of people has shown me what a strong team culture looks like, and I know I'll have the opportunity to meet and learn from many more incredible coworkers as my journey continues. What excites me most is knowing that I've found a company where I can build a long-term career. It's rare to find a workplace that values its people while also providing opportunities to grow, and I truly believe Public Storage is a place where I can continue to learn, contribute, and eventually retire after a fulfilling career. Thank you again for making me feel like part of the team. I'm proud to be here, and I'm excited for everything the future holds with Public Storage.

Cons

Love it here none that I can think of.
