Pros

The apartment is the only pro.

Cons

Everything about this job is a dumpster fire. The abusive practices of upper management: they extort you into meeting sales quotas so they can benefit from it by getting their bonuses and recognition from their superiors. You won't get either. You'll just get more work such as making you take time away from your long laundry list of daily duties so that you can focus on micromanaging other employees not contributing to high sales. Then you get negative feedback for not completing the daily duties you took time away from completing for the said micromanagement. They don't care about their customers. They want you to lie and push unecessary items; overpriced locks & merchandise as well as necessary insurance that is completely useless should they need to file a claim. Let's not forget the ridiculous pressure we have to put on customers to give us social media reviews. They must mention the employee name or else they don't count. Majority of the time, customers don't want to give you a review. They just want to do whatever they need to and get out. They don't repair or invest in capital improvements so you will have to face upset customers that aren't getting their unit repaired, for example. There's also a huge lack in care of security. When a tenant's unit gets broken into, you'll have the pleasure of getting yelled at and upper management won't care or support you in any way. District managers definitely play favorites. There's no support at all. All they care about is meeting their numbers and if you don't pressure customers into the things mentioned above, they'll fire you. The management gets worse and worse as you go higher and higher up the chain. They pay frontline employees minimum wage with no opportunity for pay increases unless minimum wage goes up. Get ready to move heavy furniture on your own as well. Not only do you rent units, you're a janitor cleaning up feces and bodily fluids, get to move nasty abandoned items ranging from boxes full of unwanted items to large pieces of furniture and appliances. No, they won't hire a third party company to do this for you. This is why they're paying you minimum wage, remember? They need to save all they can to pay upper management and corporate personnel top dollar. That will never be you by the way. The highest you can be is a trainer. You'll get an extra dollar added to your pay but forget getting promoted any further. And of course, the transients. Homeless people need somewhere to store their stuff. They'll take advantage of the $1 promo to misuse the storage space. They try to live in there, spend unecessary amounts of time there, do drugs, ect. You have to play cop and manage the transients. Some of them will get hostile with you, and if they're crazy enough, believe me they will. No, upper management won't care. Other tenants will also give you crap about the transients onsite. Something else to deal with. Overall, I would rather sell my organs on the black market than to ever work for this abomination of a corporation ever again. Notice how district managers are the majority of positive reviews. Of course someone making $100k+ a year, not having to deal with customers or the other fun things I mentioned above, would be happy with their job.

Pros

I'm genuinely grateful to be part of the Public Storage family. From the very beginning, I've felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed by everyone I've had the opportunity to work with. A special thank you to Javon, our District Manager, whose leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for the team have made a lasting impression on me. His positive attitude and commitment to helping others succeed create an environment where people want to do their best. I'd also like to recognize Akia, my trainer, for being so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has made my onboarding experience enjoyable and has given me the confidence to grow in my role every day. I'm also thankful for Jimmy, Bree, Tabitha, Kevin, and every other Public Storage team member I've worked alongside. Each person has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to share their knowledge. Working with such an amazing group of people has shown me what a strong team culture looks like, and I know I'll have the opportunity to meet and learn from many more incredible coworkers as my journey continues. What excites me most is knowing that I've found a company where I can build a long-term career. It's rare to find a workplace that values its people while also providing opportunities to grow, and I truly believe Public Storage is a place where I can continue to learn, contribute, and eventually retire after a fulfilling career. Thank you again for making me feel like part of the team. I'm proud to be here, and I'm excited for everything the future holds with Public Storage.

Cons
