Pros

Able to work alone and at your own pace. Dedicated workers with tenure can sometimes secure free housing through public storage (depends on the exact PS location if its available though). Full benefits. Easy to get into a rhythm/routine each day. Being in charge of an entire property can be rewarding. The company has a nice training program.

Cons

- You are expected to hard sell certain items, with at least a 90% success rate. - The company prioritizes new customers over old ones which lead to awkward situations where a customer has a valid complaint and you just kind of need to placate them till they go away out of frustration, (not exactly something you will take pride in). - Certain selling techniques are not the most honest... there is an optional item that PS wants you to sell but they don't want the customer to know that it's optional, so you are trained to tell them certain details as you are closing the storage unit door so they don't hear it. Again not something that you will take pride in. - As a property manager, you will repeatedly find yourself in situations that make you wonder why you aren't paid more. - Depending on the property you oversee, and your relief managers it can feel overwhelming at times. - In my opinion, you are not paid enough for the sheer breadth of work that you have to stay on top of.

Pros

I'm genuinely grateful to be part of the Public Storage family. From the very beginning, I've felt supported, encouraged, and welcomed by everyone I've had the opportunity to work with. A special thank you to Javon, our District Manager, whose leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for the team have made a lasting impression on me. His positive attitude and commitment to helping others succeed create an environment where people want to do their best. I'd also like to recognize Akia, my trainer, for being so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has made my onboarding experience enjoyable and has given me the confidence to grow in my role every day. I'm also thankful for Jimmy, Bree, Tabitha, Kevin, and every other Public Storage team member I've worked alongside. Each person has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to share their knowledge. Working with such an amazing group of people has shown me what a strong team culture looks like, and I know I'll have the opportunity to meet and learn from many more incredible coworkers as my journey continues. What excites me most is knowing that I've found a company where I can build a long-term career. It's rare to find a workplace that values its people while also providing opportunities to grow, and I truly believe Public Storage is a place where I can continue to learn, contribute, and eventually retire after a fulfilling career. Thank you again for making me feel like part of the team. I'm proud to be here, and I'm excited for everything the future holds with Public Storage.

Cons
