Pros

As a newer employee I can say that the training program is fantastic. This is not a company that will throw you into a position and tell you "good luck". The training is 2-3 months with full pay. The people I have been working with are great trainers, but also really enjoy coming to work. It's definitely not a miserable place to be. As far as the actual position, you are given a lot of autonomy to run your own District, but you will never be sitting around looking at your watch. There is a lot of variety of work, and if you are the type of person who likes to get outside then you will be thankful that you aren't stuck in a cubicle 24/7. There is also a lot of untapped potential talent to work with at the property level. I really enjoy the coaching with employees and helping them learn life-long skills that will help them be their best. Coaching and developing people at the property level will help you set your team apart from other Districts. You also work as a team with other Districts and the attitude is helpful and competitive, but not when it's at detriment to the company. The best part about the company is that people from Regional to "Corporate" are all very welcoming and happy to have a conversation with you. There is no "better than you" upper managers that I have met. I can walk over to someone in real-estate and they are happy to talk about how they help make the business run. All the Regional Managers are invested into employee well-being, even with people that don't work for them. I don't think I've seen that anywhere else I've worked. If you are on the fence about applying, you should go in for the interview. Between the ride along "day in the life of" and interview process, you will know it's the right place for you.

Cons

The company restricted stock program is a great incentive to further your career. 8 years is a long horizon for full vestment of stock.

Pros

Public Storage is a great place to work and grow your career. I’m surrounded by talented leaders who are supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in developing their teams. The company has a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, which creates an environment where employees can succeed and make an impact. What excites me most is that Public Storage is in a significant growth phase. It’s an energizing time to be part of the organization, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful initiatives, take on new challenges, and help shape the future of the business. The company continues to invest in its people, processes, and growth strategy, making it an excellent place for those who are looking to develop professionally while being part of a winning team. If you’re looking for a company with strong leadership, career advancement opportunities, and a clear vision for the future, Public Storage is a fantastic place to be.

Cons

Cons: As Public Storage continues to grow, the pace of the business can be very fast. There are often multiple initiatives, priorities, and opportunities happening simultaneously, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly. Success in this environment depends on being able to effectively prioritize, manage competing demands, and stay focused on the highest-impact work. While the pace can be challenging at times, it also creates tremendous opportunities for growth, learning, and career development.
