Pros

decent benefits, stock options (I've been there for almost 2 years, and all I have done is lost money in their stock).

Cons

They will not work with you on your schedule, you close and then open the next day, you pretty much have no time for your family. They brainwash the crap out of you, and make you believe things that will never happen. Like you will make full-time, or you will be a manager soon. In order to make a decent paycheck there you are looking at 5 years of commitment to the company (that means, making hardly any money, and commenting fully, and giving your home life up for the company). It takes a long time just to get full-time, from there you are are waiting a year to take a management test. Then from there you are waiting years to get on a finalist list, to be a manager. Then they give you false hope, like next time I promise you will get full-time, or make the finalist list (and it never happens, because you didn't kiss enough that quarter).

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
