Pros

Loved the people who worked at Publix, loved my store manager, thoroughly enjoyed my job and the interaction I had with customers. My boss/pharmacist was absolutely awesome. I felt like I gained a lot of experience and knowledge from this job, especially as a student. You really feel like you're a part of a team to accomplish multiple goals. Overall, in-house was awesome. I loved my job. It's just senior management at corporate was the problem.

Cons

Severely understaffed, at least in the pharmacy. Mainly due to upper level corporate pharmacy management. Only one pharmacist to crank out almost 500 prescriptions per day and when they would ask for overlap (help), they were commonly told no and that corporate didn't have anyone to send them. They seem to be trying to push out the older generation to bring in the newer generation. This seems to be an "across the board" thing.

Pros

You are in charge of your paycheck. What ever you can run determines your check. I was easily making $40+ running a 160. Most days I would clock out with 180-190 also making around 47 an hour.

Cons

Not too many cons. Only thing is it’s a physical job and no set schedule.but in the plus side you get your rest.

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
