Pros

Publix is a good company to work for especially if you're trying to move into management within 5 fives (or less). They have a great benefit package for full time employees and it starts the first month of working there. They're always looking for mangers because they're building new stores. Very understanding with your schedule. Pay increase every 6 months.

Cons

No benefit package for part timers. If going into management must have open moving availability. dealing with rude customers and being stuck working certain shifts. Can't have a customize schedule for full time employees (must have open availability). Store managers always talking to you about moving into manager (even if you're not interested). Part time employees hours get cut during slow seasons (the spring and summer). Always moving managers to other stores or promotions, So department employees would have to deal with new managers that sometimes don't work well with the department.

Pros

You are in charge of your paycheck. What ever you can run determines your check. I was easily making $40+ running a 160. Most days I would clock out with 180-190 also making around 47 an hour.

Cons

Not too many cons. Only thing is it’s a physical job and no set schedule.but in the plus side you get your rest.

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
