Pros

• Great benefits if you’re full timers • can purchase stock • Jobs are facile • if you’re part time you most likely will receive the days you want off

Cons

Where do I start? • Management and Corporate values the customers over the employees • Todd Jones took away employee bonuses and gave himself a million dollar raise! • The mission statement of the founder George Jenkins has been completely brushed to the side by corporate. •if you’re not management or corporate, almost no one cares about you. • Very few managers that actually care about the employees • Managers wait until your 6month evaluation to tell you everything you do wrong so they won’t have to give you a raise • Managers do not work with full timers to give them the days they want off • Managers make being full time such a huge deal to the point it’s almost impossible to get full-time. • The donations the company gives isn’t from the heart. It’s so Publix can receive a tax write off. • part-time employees are seen as “below” full-timers by some managers. • Publix is about corporate and making money. Nothing else matters.

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
