Pros

Part time is easy and almost no responsibility. Part time means you choose your schedule

Cons

1. Sometimes they treat part time people like they're full time while refusing to promote them. 2. Ever changing management. Every 6 months your manager is up for a transfer and they probably will be moved. 3. It's hard to get fired so if you work quickly and do your job well, you'll be expected to pick up everybody else's slack. 4. Store managers often forget that they don't have the skill to run certain departments. 5. They rush you into training and try to push you through to finish so they look good. 6. If your manager doesn't like you personally you won't get a raise above 25 cents. 7. Store managers and department managers often butt heads and then nothing gets done. 8. Watching new people with no experience come in full time after you were promised full time and then you don't get it because the new person took your spot "to get bodies in the door"

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
