Purchase is represented by a supportive union, and offers decent benefits. The students are phenomenal, as are many of the lower-end employees.
Cons
While many negative reviews highlight the terrible wages (especially for Westchester), I find everything else surrounding that to be of greater concern. Despite relatively high credential requirements, there is zero flexibility and staff are micromanaged like children, especially in departments under the Student Affairs umbrella. Management is almost universally cold, manipulative and condescending... the exact opposite of what the school claims to be. It's heartbreaking, because the institution has so much potential, but it has been hijacked by an uncaring corporate mindset that drives away young talent and is especially hostile towards women and black professionals.
