World class facilities and advisors, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with experts in other fields who are also located here. Large departments mean you won't be one of a few graduate students in your program, regardless of the department.
Cons
West Lafayette can be pretty boring even compared to other college towns. There is very little live music scene. However, Chicago and Indianapolis are not that far, so you can usually find bands you want to see.
