Pros

-The foundation this company is built upon is incredible. The Founder and CEO have a a great vision. They have principles, values, and make it a point to meet and spend time with all new employees coming through. They make sure to share the vision, history, and initiatives going forward. They are very personable and have an open door policy -Free food -Nice office space -Friendly and social atmosphere

Cons

-Middle management to upper management is the main issue here. Q2 is growing so fast that really the main focus is just getting butts in seats and not the RIGHT talent hired to grow the company in progressing direction. There is no inside promotion happening with in the company anymore. Management is just hiring from the outside and putting new "talent" in roles they have no experience managing or managing a team effectively and then letting them pretty much do whatever they want with zero supervision. Either "friends" of other managers/supervisors are getting hired or new managers are being brought in by headhunters that have NO CLUE what Q2's culture and values are. Managers verbally abuse their employees, they do not develop or build positive relationships with employees. Instead of building up employees or having their best interest at heart, they blame their employees or are quick to throw them under the bus. Anything to make them look good and seem like they are working, when in reality all the junior and mid level employees are doing all the labor. in the almost 3 years I worked at Q2 I saw it go from a small company of family values and ethics to a cut throat and hostile environment. I'm sure that some departments aren't as bad as others, but BEWARE. A majority of Q2's top talent has been ran out or is being run out. There have been a ton of loyal, smart, hardworking employees leaving for way more positive environments and better opportunities. ALSO, good luck taking any issue to HR..you'll either somehow end up being the one reprimanded or really just ignored and treated like crap.

Q2 Software Response
10y
Q2 offers several developmental programs for our management team. And twice a year we survey all employees to test managerial effectiveness and provide our leaders with developmental feedback to help them learn and grow. The HR team is committed to helping all employees investigate complaints. Sometimes that results in a finding that aligns with the employee’s perspective. On other occasions, investigations may result in findings that an employee disagrees with. However, all complaints are taken seriously and no retaliation is permitted.

Pros

The people here are amazing. Q2 has been an incredible place to work. From day one, I felt welcomed by a team that genuinely cares about helping one another succeed. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and centered around doing what’s right for both employees and customers. Leadership communicates a clear vision, and there’s a strong sense of purpose in helping financial institutions better serve their communities. The company also provides excellent opportunities for learning and professional growth. Hard work is recognized, managers are invested in employee development, and there’s an emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The benefits are competitive, and Q2 continues to invest in its people and technology. Overall, it’s a company where you can build a meaningful career while working with genuinely great people.

Cons

None right now to mention.

Pros

I love working at Q2. My personal experience has been very positive. I've had the privilege of being on multiple teams in various departments during my time here and I have had excellent experiences with my managers, leadership, and coworkers.

Cons

The return to office policy is very rigid. I would like to see them adopt a "commute time" policy rather than miles. 50 miles is not equal drive time in Austin vs somewhere like Nebraska. We've lost many excellent coworkers due to this policy. All that institutional knowledge, right out the door in favor of sticking to company policy.
