Business Outlook
Pros
UX team was initially a great place to learn and had solid processes and good leadership. They made investments in design years ago that has directly impacted growth- you could look at the stock price history and correlate it directly with UX and user research investment.
Cons
Key design leadership was laid off, design has rolled under product now. Some teams are toxic. Competing priorities of different leaders will become your problem as an IC. Toxic positivity culture “change is good” even when change is chaos and you’re thrown under the bus for just trying your best. People with less experience will be highered at a higher level and base pay than those already there and it tanks morale. Little transparency.
