Pros
-start with 40 hours out of 160 hours/year PTO, no need to build -take Covid very seriously with options to WFH -friendly environment, most people want to help -good respect for PTO, people will generally leave you alone if you are off -in general managers are hands off, as long as you get your work done you don't have to put in 40 hours -good flexibility with taking a few hours off to go to doctor's appointments during the day without taking PTO -in general pretty chill and laidback for a manufacturing site, i have never been called in the middle of the night
Cons
-Cafeteria has very little food options -experiences depend very heavily on manager's style, in general you only get tasks from your manager and don't interact too much with higher ups -24/7/365 facility so hours can be hectic/you can be on call depending on your responsibilities -not a lot of transparency/support for minority groups (women, LGBT, younger people) -no formal new grad program. you start whenever and have a specific role your manager assigns. If you are lucky your manager will introduce you to some people, but the company in general is very old. maybe 5 or so engineers under 30 -for a tech company they don't really give out corporate swag. a shirt or cup once a year -compensation seems less than their competitors, I have asked friends at intel, samsung, and TI for their starting salaries and only qorvo and samsung for bachelor's are ~75,000. Samsung has much better health benefits though
