Pros

Got good performance reviews when I put forth less effort than I did in freshman philosophy 5 years ago. So if you're smart, you'll be a big fish in a small pond? It's a con or benefit according to what you are looking for. Managers were pretty understanding, and didn't make engineers work 60+ hour weeks, so the work-life balance was pretty good.

Cons

Bad locations which means a long commute if you want to live anywhere hip. No design documentation. No real requirements. Old tech that's since been discarded. And now, first and foremost - this company is in the business of print. It's a decaying industry, so don't go expecting any nice bonuses or raises. PTO is really bad. 0 days off your first year (my manager let me take a few days off here and there) 2 weeks years 1-3 or so. Not comparable to other shops I've since gotten offers from. The 401k (ridiculously long vesting period) and retirement options (I don't believe they have any match for the Roth IRA) are not competitive to what is offered to engineers in the Greater Milwaukee Metro area.
