Nurse managers mistreat the staff nurses and show favoritism regularly. Early comments on managers "habitually abusing the staff nurses" is factual. Management and leadership needed not be so dogmatic and rigid in their treatment of the staff nurses who work so hard. Rules and policies are provided as guidance and set standards for practice. Managers need to understand and know hospital policies as well as understand some of the local culture of the community of Hawaii.
