Pros
The pay and benefits are pretty good. There's a free diagnostic test employees and their spouses can do each year and having good results lowers your health insurance. There's a yearly bonus and performance reviews that any raises would be based on.
Cons
The actual work can be demoralizing. Often times, you will be behind your department's turn around time for samples. Sometimes this is due to people making mistakes, sometimes it's because of recurring instrument issues. There is also a low staffing issue which can cause issues for coverage. Moving up in the company is dependent on people in the position you want moving up or quitting which can be more of an issue depending on what shift you work on.
