Pros

The people I worked with on a day-to-day basis were some of the most professional and inspiring co-workers I have ever had. There was a true sense of team and everyone working to the same goal.

Cons

The harsh economy has made Quest Software a difficult place to work if you don't live in California. Communication out of corporate was sparse and often just rumors; people will make stuff up if they aren't given direction. Pressure at the top to increase performance works downhill. Forced-vacations with little notice to employees does not encourage loyalty to a workforce already trying to do more with less.

Pros

Quest Software is a great place to work. The people are genuinely good people, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Quest is a strong environment if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with experienced teams, and helping customers address real business and security challenges. The company has a deep portfolio, talented employees, and many opportunities to collaborate across sales, presales, product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams. I also appreciate the flexibility, the trust given to senior employees, and the ability to contribute strategically beyond a narrow job description.

Cons

Like many large technology organizations, processes can sometimes be complex, and internal alignment across teams may take time. There are also opportunities to improve enablement, communication, and consistency around product packaging, roadmap visibility, and internal workflows.
