Pros

I had the opportunity to work with some amazing people during my tenure there.

Cons

Despite layoffs occurring nearly every quarter for years, and despite stating that they were taking measures (no merit increases and no 401k matching) to ensure "continued viability during the uncertain times caused by COVID-19," the latest CEO created new chief-level positions. Two weeks later, another layoff. Next quarter, another layoff. If you're interested in working for a company that is focused and committed to a plan, look elsewhere.

Pros

Quest Software is a great place to work. The people are genuinely good people, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Quest is a strong environment if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with experienced teams, and helping customers address real business and security challenges. The company has a deep portfolio, talented employees, and many opportunities to collaborate across sales, presales, product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams. I also appreciate the flexibility, the trust given to senior employees, and the ability to contribute strategically beyond a narrow job description.

Cons

Like many large technology organizations, processes can sometimes be complex, and internal alignment across teams may take time. There are also opportunities to improve enablement, communication, and consistency around product packaging, roadmap visibility, and internal workflows.
