Demanding but high earning potential - Business Development Representative (BDR) Quest Software Employee Review

Pros

There's a high earning potential off of commission. There was constant interaction between BDRs in group chats, email chains sharing sales wins, and team meetings which made the day entertaining. Warm leads were provided from time to time which helped to meet quota attainment.

Cons

They require 125 calls a day which was a bit excessive for the base pay you're getting. It's hard to have high quality conversations with leads from the limited training you get on product knowledge and customer pain points. Eventually a cap was put on the max commission that could be earned from a single deal.

Pros

Quest Software is a great place to work. The people are genuinely good people, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Quest is a strong environment if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with experienced teams, and helping customers address real business and security challenges. The company has a deep portfolio, talented employees, and many opportunities to collaborate across sales, presales, product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams. I also appreciate the flexibility, the trust given to senior employees, and the ability to contribute strategically beyond a narrow job description.

Cons

Like many large technology organizations, processes can sometimes be complex, and internal alignment across teams may take time. There are also opportunities to improve enablement, communication, and consistency around product packaging, roadmap visibility, and internal workflows.
