Pros

-They let you take pumpkins home every fall and provide bagels on Friday mornings. -Decent compensation and benefits

Cons

- You will be left off group outing invites, important meeting emails if they dislike you. You will also be denied career trainings or flat out ignored when you make the request. Often felt like there was a discriminatory reason for this. - They will ask you to literally take phone calls while you are at the deathbed of your grandparents, but then tell you in a review a month later that "you could step up more." - They are afraid to tell the client 'no', confront client behaviors that complicate ticket flow, or tell them the truth about sensitive matters...and as a result create problems that snowball into contract-threatening nightmares - They will choose a scapegoat when the client finally gets mad regarding the aforementioned problems and REI will offer YOUR head to appease the client, despite it it being problems created by those on the management team and despite it being YOU that warned them about these problems for months. - They will literally fabricate data to justify removing you. When you provide the raw data showing that their fake data is fake...they block you from the system and lock you out of the building so you can't fight back with evidence. - None of the current managers have actually worked a day in helpdesk roles and it is glaringly obvious they have NO idea how a helpdesk should run. The customers complain about the dysfunction of the helpdesk constantly.

Many of our Employees experience working at REI as satisfying, challenging and career-advancing. They appreciate the culture of openness and transparency. We provide paid technical training, mobility among projects within the company, and leadership and communication development programs for employees to grow as professionals. We’re sorry that you do not feel you had that same experience. We definitely value and rely upon our employees to advance our clients’ programs. We’re honored to work with clients who are changing the world, and sometimes challenges can arise when there is a lot going on and many facets at play. It’s not always easy to address, and our Mangers continually strive to find solutions to balance project needs, client relationships and employee considerations. However there is never any justification for treating employees, contractors, or clients with anything less than respect and courtesy. Never. We continually work to grow and enhance our working culture by asking employees what they want or need, by sending satisfaction surveys, conducting employee check-ins, and conducting skip 1on1 conversations (an employee’s boss’s boss connects with them) to ensure their voices are heard. Additionally we have an anonymous “Text the Execs” program in which employees can share or alert us of situations that may need addressing in a unattributable way. Many also connect directly (and confidentially) with our on-site Professional and Personal Development Coach to more fully share and understand situations as well as determine the best way to approach the issue. These and other factors ensure Employees feel an atmosphere of trust, transparency, and growth. Employees have voted REI Systems a “Washington Post Top Places to Work” five times. That said, it appears you had a different experience. And to repeat, we do not tolerate disrespect or toxic environments and immediately address issues as we become aware of them. If you would like additional help, please reach out to HR@REISystems.com. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. And while we wish you felt you had a different experience; we will grow stronger because of your input. We wish you the best.

Pros

Ceo is good. Good benefits. 401k, medical plan is good. Decent pto policy. Wfh and remote work policies are good You get to work on mission critical systems and can see impact.

Cons

There is no respect of your personal time. Some dev/delivery Managers have no engineering background except of a degree and they cannot offer solutions. Hence, the dependency on team is so high for every little thing. Folks higher up in the chain engage in activities that violate code of conduct and ethics. Work spouse are common place here. Some people are home grown and in leadership positions and do not know how to handle crisis, and large programs. Some leaders get to move around easily when they cannot handle work complexity, and pressure and due to this genuine folks have to suffer (in short rules bend behind scenes) (open bias). Leadership will stand for their favorites [bias] and save them even after failing to deliver and innumerable customer escalations. Few architects shout and believe they know it all.
